Bought this set November 2010. Beautifully packed, quick delivery, lovely set! However I broke the dinner plate and have hunted all over the place for one plate. Ended up deciding that I might as well just purchase another set as 4 dinner plates were $80.00 for just 4 dinner plates and I had purchased the entire set for $110 a couple of months ago although I don’t need more mugs I thought well I could always use more salad plates…imagine my surprise when I found there had been a HUGE price increase and rather than $110 the set had increased to $160!

So I begin to look online, Distinctive Decor carries the exact same set for $110 has free shipping and no tax unless you live in Oklahoma…and yes it carries exactly the same SKU made by Spode. So until Amazon knocks off the $60 price increase and goes back to selling this set for $110…I’d check out Distinctive Decor.

Beautiful set of dishes

These are beautiful dishes of great quality. The dinner plate has a wide rim so that it does not hold a large amount of food if you are a hefty eater. Also the dessert/salad plates are smallish as well as the mugs. I think most people that eat limited portions won’t mind this but anyone who loves to load up the plates or enjoys large size mugs of coffee, etc. would be very annoyed. With our diet it works for us. The pattern and colors are gorgeous… eye candy!

on time and super protected from breakage

I received a 16 inch square, 6 inch deep box of dishes in a 3 foot by 2 foot, 12 inch deep carton. The inside was filled with inflated plastic bags. Needless to say, there was not a “chip” on any of the china pieces. The Spode blue italian is a classic design that delighted my wife when she opened her gift.
