Iittala Origo Dinner Plate, Brown

These plates make me happy.

I love these plates. They are simple in design but the color combination is unique. They feel a little fragile (which means they are high quality?). I have granite countertops, so I have to make sure I place these plates down gently. Haven’t broken a plate yet but seems like it could happen easily. Regardless, I’m very happy with my purchase.

These dishes make me happy, too!

Hi, my name is Sasha, and I’m a dish-oholic. To the tune of roughly 20 sets of dishes. I have different dishes for each season and purpose. But I was finally satisfied with my collection; sober, if you will. I could even enjoy looking at new dishes without thinking I needed to own them. Then, after nearly 10 years of sobriety, I fell for these dishes. At first it was just a few dessert bowls and tumblers (yes, the tumblers are a little weird), but now I’ve collected a whole set–didn’t even wait for Santa’s help.

And, so help me, I love them! They are cheerful, modern, and a pleasure to handle. The colors (I have the orange version) mix well with many of my existing dishes (even, somehow, my winter set), so I expect to keep them in the cabinet year-round while rotating my seasonal dishes around them.

Several reviewers worry about breakage because they are thin. Of course any ceramic dishes are breakable if dropped or transferred from a hot oven to cold…
