Nice but stated size is incorrect These plates have a nice design, nice color, nicely articulated. However, plate size is 6″, not 7″ as described. Plate is almost saucer like, which makes it perfect for a party appetizer plate given its size. In fact, that is what I think they are — not salad/dessert plates. I received 2 sets or 12 plates total, which was just as described: “BIA Cordon Bleu Assorted Salad/Dessert Plates, Set of 12, Gift Boxed, Spirits.” I purchased this item during Amazon’s 70% off kitchen sale, so a great price at just over 1 buck per piece. Great Plates! These plates are sensational! I cannot wait to use them next time I have guests over. These plates will make a bold statement at dessert time. I intend to use them with my Spode Blue (Room and Italian) pieces. As far as the “gift boxed” statement is concerned, the eight plates come in two identical sets of four. Each set is placed in a lovely, ready for gift giving round carton box that reminds a package of Camembert cheese – very cute and attractive. Prospective buyers should also keep in mind that these plates are smaller than ordinary dessert plates (5″ in diameter) and could be classified as canape plates. Perfect Gift for Spode Collector Granted this is a very specialized dish, but that is what makes it perfect for any Spode Christmas Tree collectors on your gift list. Undoubtedly they don’t already own it. I’ve read complaints from buyers because often the country of manufacture isn’t listed in the description and the Spode pieces made in Malaysia do not compare to the ones made in England.
