best carafe ever This is the second one of this brand carafe I have purchased. I still have the first one that I bought years ago — the only thing wrong with that one is the screw on top needs to be replaced. The store where I bought the first one no longer carries the brand so I bought a different brand — HUGE mistake. I returned it, got my money back & found the one I really wanted right here on good ol’ Amazon!! =) This carafe keeps my coffee hot for hours . . no joke. Another thing I love about this product is that it isn’t made in China. It’s made in Canada. I’m extremely happy with this product & highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good carafe!! Love it This is a great pitcher. It looks like is Stainless Steel but it is aluminum. I leave it my freezer to have it ready for dinner water. It keeps the water COLD. Just don’t put it in the dishwasher you will destroy the finish. And don’t put water in the container and freeze it. It will crack the casting. The castings are a little different from one pitcher to the next pitcher. Great product Not only does it look good, but if you put it in the fridge first it keeps your drinks cold for a long time without really needing to ice it down. Lovely pitcher…Perfect size I purchased this pitcher and another just like it in a different color/design. Both are really pretty and were packaged well. I like the fact that it is not a huge pitcher. When I first unpacked it, I thought it might be too small…didn’t look like it would hold the 1-1/2 quarts it was said to in the description. Not that it’s tiny, just sort of dainty. But it does. I use both pitchers when there’s to be several people. Why did I give it 4 stars instead of 5? I believe 5 stars indicates there’s no room for improvement. Much as I like this pitcher, there are a couple of negatives for me. One…no lid. I have to cover with foil or plastic wrap. I realize it would be hard to make a lid with the way it’s designed, but it would still be better with one. Two…it drips down the outside of the spout when you pour tea. Not a puddle, just a dribble, probably because the spout is not thin. I just set it on a towel or wipe with a paper towel each time. Not a big deal, but ...

Elegant way to keep coffee hot I recently got rid of my automatic thermal coffee maker and went to one that was plastic-free. I’d been reading a lot of articles about not cooking or heating food in plastic containers so I figured that making coffee using almost boiling water and pouring it through a plastic basket into a plastic lined pot might not be the healthiest way to go. After much searching and asking questions on Amazon discussions I found the Chemex 10 Cup Coffee Maker that made an excellent cup of coffee. The only problem was, how to keep it hot? That glass coffee maker kept it hot for all of about 10 minutes, even with the lid. So the search was on for a thermal carafe to pour the coffee into that would keep it hot for a several hours. And it had to be plastic free. So many of the ones that I looked at were stainless steel on the outside but lined in plastic. I finally came across this one that is 18/10 stainless steel both… Do NOT order this item while under the review!!!...

The best coffee carafe made, period. This is my third Alfi chrome plated metal thermal coffee carafe. It is lined with glass, so if dropped or otherwise mishandled it will break, but with reasonable care it will last a lifetime. Disappointment! Alfi carafes are great but not this one! Exterior is perfect; inside shows wear (glass lining is spotty looking) but doesn’t affect function. The problem is the rubber seal which is loose and allows coffee to pour all over both you and your cup! A mess! I gave it away after one too many spills. Simply the best… Yes, it is expensive, but as one other reviewer said; it will last forever. We’ve now had our Alfi Opal carafe for well over 5 years and it’s still going strong. It keeps our coffee hot for hours on end (8+) and has a solid fool-proof seal that has never leaked a drop! BTW, this is not occasional use… we use it at least twice a day, 7 days a week! We brew our coffee straight into the carafe and simply rinse it out after we’re done. Yes, after all this time, the “white” stopper is brown, but still functions flawlessly! The best carafe ever! Beautiful Pitcher I’m really enjoying my new Blown Mexican glass pitcher in Lime Twist. While 98oz is advertised, it will actually hold closer to 110oz. This is a beautiful pitcher, and will make a great compliment to my tabletop this coming holiday season. The artistic detail in the handle of pitcher cannot be appreciated in a photo.
