Nice set, good value We have been using it for a few months now & have had no problems washing it in the dishwasher. The design is very attractive, & the pieces have a solid feel — not super heavy, but not flimsy like some inexpensive flatware. The size of the salad forks seems tinier than usual, but overall a great value for the price. Wow This set is so nice. I almost don’t believe I only paid $6! This was a major steal. It’s 18/10 stainless steel as apposed to the cheapo 18/0. These are not 18/10 Stainless I had received 2 sets of this silverware from Bed Bath and Beyond… Sept. 2006. I ordered this set to replace some missing pieces. NOT a match I read the product description 18/0 and thought it was a typo because further down on the page in the product description it says, " Crafted of durable 18/10 stainless steel and designed to be used on a daily basis" I’d send them back, they are cheap compared to what I had, but my hubby already had thrown them in the dishwasher and we were already using them before I really had a chance to check them out. I could pick them out just by weight alone… I like them a lot! I’m pretty picky about my silverware. To me, a lot of them have an odd metallic taste to them. These do not. Attractive and sturdy For my last birthday, my husband bought me new Oneida flatware from Target in this design: Stanhope 20-pc. Flatware Set . Unfortunately, Target did not not have the hostess set available, and because the Stanhope pattern has actually been discontinued, we couldn’t find the completer pieces anywhere. So, we decided to look for a pattern that would be complimentary rather than match exactly. That brought us to this Gingko Sanibel Surf design. We loved the look of the little swirls on the ends of each piece; they are meant to be shells, but we thought they would be a fun match for the spirals on our Stanhope flatware, so we ordered this set. Sleek, modern and elegant stemware The first thing that impressed me about the Varberg stemware is the weight – it’s solid and heavy in the hand. You’ll also notice that the bowls on the spoons are a squared-off oval shape and the fork tines are longer and sleeker than usual. As a result, these pieces have a nice mouth-feel. These two unique design elements (combined with the high-polish finish) make this stemware look elegant, very classy and very expensive. They are appropriate for everyday use as well as when you want to set an elegant table. Care: these are dishwasher safe but, as with all stainless, do not use a citrus dishwasher detergent or combine with silver or aluminum items. Durable and Luxurious Mmmm, I love digging into my food with this 5-piece place setting. The large knife easily cuts into my food which is easily pierced by my fork and sent on its way to my mouth. reliable set, matches existing utensils This set matches items that we purchased singly a few years back in our college days at our old local ACE hardware, so now we have a complete set! Great set, and a good price here on Amazon. Got the “hostess” set as well, so everything matches. No problems with the quality. Beautiful but it rusts I absolutely love this pattern. It’s mirrored finish is just beautiful, and I’ve not been able to find anything else like it. The problem is, though, that it rusts. I’ve had 18/10 flatware before, and have never had this rust problem. The knives seem to rust on the actual smooth part as well as the hammered handle, and the others will get it on the handles. I’m so bummed because I can’t find another pattern like it anywhere. So I have to give it only 1 star because of the rust.
