I found heaven in bakeware I have been using my set of basic pyrex since I got married. It served fine for years, but now I understand what all the fuss is about. You hear people rave about using great bakeware, now I get it. My first pie (apple) came out fantastic! The crust was lighter and flakier than I have ever managed before. I thought I was a decent baker but now I see what is possible! The clean up was so wonderful. A little soaking and every last crumb came off no problem. I used to soak my glass pyrex overnight but no more! It holds heat well. Longer than I was used to and its a nice even warmth, not the blazing hot then suddenly cold I was used to with glass. cheery little cereal bowls I bought these bowls because I wanted a nicer quality than the plastic bowls I’ve been using for several years. I also wanted bowls I could pull straight out of the dishwasher without having to dry any ridges or crevices where water remains after the dry cycle. These bowls have a bit of weight to them and are a beautiful cherry red color with a bright white interior. I am a bit clumsy in the kitchen and, as such, have broken quite a few delicate items, but these are quite durable. I can’t wait to finish buying the set! They are a bit on the expensive side but are well worth it by aesthetic and practical criteria! Beautiful – use them every day. These bowls are beautiful, sturdy, functional and well-worth the money. WOW! This one is HUGE!!! Although I have the cobalt blue one, I decided to write a review on this since personally, I have relied on other’s reviews about the functionality, design since I already have other pieces in the same line / color. If you are an Emile Henry fan, and are looking at buying THIS particular Cerise Red, you most likely know what sort of ‘red’ it is. I do not own any of the red, just the cobalt. The design like all Emile products are EXTREMELY sturdy, substantial in weight, VERY strong considering it’s pottery and beautiful. I just got my 2 bowls in yesterday and BOY! ARE THEY HUGE!!! Luckily, they DO fit in my cupboards which I’m relieved about. They are shaped & designed exactly like the smaller individual pasta bowls, these are just again, much bigger. Pasta bowls I love these bowls which can be used for soup ceral pasta or what ever they and thick, heavy, pretty and the size is terific. The William Morris edict If we are to “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful” (pace William Morris), then these bowls belong, under one species or the other. And, for Emile Henry-philes like me, under both. The bowls won’t go with everything. Except for the blues and the brown, Emile Henry colors and heft demand to be set among similarly strong colors and heavy pieces. But they’re cheerful in every season and they won’t slide around as you chase down that last strand of spaghetti. Sturdiness is one of the qualities I admire most about Emile Henry pieces. I Got 2 Bowls First I want to say I got 2 bowls as given in the description. After reading a couple of reviews by people reviewing this item, not only the blue but other colors. Stating they only got one. Makes me wonder if they are reviewing the right item. Amazon does have a 1 quart pasta bowl, that is being sold as one piece only. This is the 3rd set of 2 I have ordered from Amazon and each case I received the 2 as given in description. These are great bowls, I could see using these as a vegetable serving bowl, a very large cereal bowl, a large individual salad bowl. These bowls will hold about 2 cups of food with room to spare. I have also ordered the quart bowl. For someone who is not partial to blue, I’ll have to say the blue in this bowl is striking. So I just ordered another set as I got these on sale. If Amazon reduces the price on the 1 quart in blue, I would order that also. Just a side bar, I had a male friend over one day and he saw the bowls, he was so impressed… love th...

Nice bowls, poor website The bowls were really nice, but not what I wanted. I gave them away. When I had gone to the website, the website initially showed these bowls as slate. However, when I clicked on the additional information, it said they were actually sapphire, which is what it said as I purchased them. Then, the confirmation came back saying they were slate. I immediately canceled the order but received them anyway. I gave them to a friend who loves them, so I did not return them. Great mug Substantial and comforting. Wide lip is a little too wide for tea cozy, but it holds a lot of coffee. Wonderful for a weekend morning. Coffe mugs Good price. It Works! Strange as it may seem, the Butter Pot actually works! You put two sticks, (eight ounces) of softened butter in the Cup/lid and a half inch of water in the base so that it will form a seal when you invert the lid over the base and it will keep your butter fresh and spreadable, without refrigeration, for three to four weeks. All you need to do is change the water every three or four days. I have another version of this device, but I prefer this one, simply because it holds twice as much, eight ounces instead of four. If you’re as fond of buttered toast as I am, and as aggravated by trying to soften hard butter in the microwave, you’ll really appreciate the Butter Pot. As with all Emile Henry ware, this is an extremely well-maide item, that should last for years. This pot will pay for itself in butter freshness I like real butter. It’s a pain to keep spreadable. Beautifully made, rich colors–worthy of my morning cup-o-joe I’ve long been an admirer of the Emile Henry settings and coffee mugs. I bought some in red last year and have been very pleased. The color is rich–which was part of my criteria, and the actual ceramic is high quality and not the porous junk that easily wears down and breaks. These are slightly heavy duty with elegance. Love them! My only gripe was that the ones I ordered had tiny variations in the glaze. Not in the overall color from cup to cup, but there were a few small dark spots and I wondered if the particular seller that I had bought them from was selling higher quality seconds, since I hadn’t noticed these variations in the in-store cups I had seen. Makes butter the perfect consistency for spreading It is such a pleasure to enjoy the use of spreadable butter on a variety of foods again. The consistency of the butter in the Emile Henry Le Potier butter pot is always PERFECT! I expected it to be too soft, but it’s not. Just leave the pot on the counter and refresh the water twice a week. It’s simple! The opening is a little smaller than I would like, but I have no difficulty getting the butter out. I can get the majority of it out with a regular knife. When it is almost completely empty, I use a small spatula to get every last bit of the butter. I wash it in the dishwasher, but have also washed it by hand. It cleans easily if it is soaked in hot soapy water. What a perfect gift this would be for all of my low carb diet friends.
