Johnson Brothers Willow Blue Teapot

Missing Specs in the description?

I got suspicious when I noticed that other teapots have at least a capacity mentioned as to how many ounces of tea will they hold. So I called up Relacements,Ltd. (a dealer in Johnson Brothers china) to find out exactly what ARE the specs on this teapot. It’s 4 3/8″ high and it’s what they call a 5 cup teapot. A teacup has a capacity of 6 ounces,therefore this pot holds about 30 ounces of tea. I’ve ordered the 13 piece Willow tea set from them and am awaiting it’s arrival. These Johnson Brotheres china pieces have the ability to be freezer,dishwasher,and microwave safe; no such claims are mentioned by those other willow pattern pieces of china being sold on Amazon. Which could explain the HIGH rate of breakage among those pieces of china. I thought you fellow Amazon purchasers might like to know this.

This is My Second One

I bought this exact teapot from the discount store Marshall’s for $20. I had it for almost seven years and then it got bumped down onto my granite counter top a little too hard and developed a crack running from the bottom to the spout. It didn’t actually break, but I was taking no chances. I loved that pot, and I didn’t want to have to find a new/different teapot that might drip from the spout, or have an over-shoot problem, or not fit my hand quite right. I was in crisis! I wanted my teapot back! Low and behold, Amazon had it and I am a happy, happy tea drinker. I had to pay $40 this time, but I don’t care. Love is love.

Fantastic; worth the money

You can get a full size teapot for a lot less money than this. This one has an elegant shape, and the spout only lets one drop dribble down the front after pouring a cup. (about the best you can hope for) The lid stays put when pouring even the last cup, when the pot is near totally inverted. There are two little areas where the graphics are messed up near the lid, but barely noticeable.

I haven’t tried washing it in a dishwasher yet; no reason to.
